Spring Break at the Conservation Center

One of our favorite places to go is the AWCC or the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center.  It is fun to look back at the pictures from last spring break...and then look at the ones from this break!  On Sunday we met up with our friends from Talkeetna and got out and ran a bit of energy off.  It was lightly snowing and the kids had a blast!

Here is one of the Kodiak brown bear cubs.  Not so much a cub anymore, though!  They are headed to their new home in Sweden in May. Last spring they were so little and cute...this year they look like real bears!

We got to watch them feed the newest residents, two sister lynx.

And in a rare event, Snickers the porcupine was up a tree!  Snickers is something of a movie star...he was a YouTube sensation in 2010.  He also came to visit the kids at school in December.  I was in Anchorage, but from all reports it was a really cool experience!

It was a fun way to spend a morning...outside, good friends, and cute animals!
