All summer and into the fall, the girls have been very interested (borderline obsessed!) with the ocean. It's been very fun, since we live right on the water and have had opportunities to see and experience so much. Our door looks like an ocean right now, complete with fingerpainted water and kiddo colored ocean creatures placed at the correct depths. We've read lots of books about the ocean this summer and for a 3 and a 4 year old they have a surprisingly good understanding of which creatures live here in our "cold ocean" and which ones live in other "warm oceans". They both love the Alaska Sealife Center...I can only imagine how much fun they'd have at the Newport Aquarium!
So I guess it shouldn't have come as a big surprise that after learning what a submarine is, that Kelsey would propose that we all live on one! After all...one can only be satisfied with the idea of "scooper diving" (scuba diving) for so long! She desperately wants to see the sea floor so the idea of living in a submarine has great appeal to her. Then I made the mistake of singing "Yellow Submarine" to her...yeah, real bright, huh? :-)

ReplyDeleteGood thing they don't have an .mp3 of that song so they can play it over and over and over... Oh wait! We could fix that... :-)
