10 Signs that Summer's Ending

It was bound to happen! We've had a stretch of weather that makes you mourn the end of summer, but I'm taking careful notes and here's what I've noticed:

1. School started.
2. Restaurants are closing up.
3. The Kayak Center is closed.
4. The ferry schedule is slowing down.
5. The boats are leaving the seasonal pay-to-park lot.
6. It's dark when we get up.
7. We're getting closer and closer to Oct. 1 when the winter tunnel hours go into effect.
8. The last cruise ship was here this past weekend.
9. The wind blows from a winterly direction...and it's getting chilly at night!
10. The calendar says so.

So I guess it must be true!
